Date of birth: 25 December 1979
What started off with a letter to the editor at Mid-Day, India’s leading tabloid, in 1997-98 turned into a passion for me. It grew from that to writing profiles and features for supplements of The Times of India like Bombay Times, New Bombay Times among others from 1998 to 1999.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Sept 2010-July 2014
International Cricket Council

As Media and Communications Officer helped put together the event website for the flagship tournament, ICC Cricket World Cup 2011, in conjunction with Yahoo! ICC’s internet partner. Apart from maintaining and updating the ICC’s corporate site, www.icc-cricket.com, my work profile also included working on the publications put together by the world governing body on cricket. Some of the publications I worked extensively on were the Official Media Guide for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011, Official ICC Cricket World Cup Magazine, ICC’s Annual Playing Handbook along with event media guides for other Associate and Affiliate events.

Managing ICC’s profile on the various social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter, was also part of my work. The ICC now has over 1 million followers on Twitter and over five million fans are part of the ICC’s online community on Facebook, apart from around 31,000 followers on Instagram.

I also worked as media manager for the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup Qualifier held in Dublin and Derry in July-August 2010. Also during the 2000th Test at Lord’s, functioned as ICC’s media manager facilitating interactions of ICC CEO Haroon Lorgat with the travelling press corps.

During my stint with the ICC, I have also worked at ideating and putting together the weekly radio show with help from the show producers, ESPN-Star Sports. Also produced and shot video content for the ICC’s website from various events conducted within and outside Dubai.

In March 2012 I managed the media operations at the ICC World Twenty20 2012 Qualifier at Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi Cricket Stadiums. I have also been responsible for producing films/special video clips during my stint at the ICC.

During the ICC World Twenty20 2012 in Sri Lanka I played a key role in the event media team providing regular updates by writing up media releases and managing media operations at the venues.

I served as the media manager during the ICC Women’s World Cup 2013 managing operations in Mumbai and Cuttack. Later that year, I served as the ICC Venue Broadcast Manager in Cardiff and Birmingham during the ICC Champions Trophy.

Apart from this, I have also managed the digital content operations of ICC across all its digital channels like twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram. I also look after the content displayed on the apps of the ICC.

Developing a strategy, maintaining relationships with the social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook form part of my job. I work very closely with the Twitter and Facebook platforms to deliver key messaging across those platforms.

Most recently the work put in ensured that there was excellent digital integration in the broadcast during the ICC Women’s World Cup, ICC Champions Trophy and ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup

During my current role, I have also led the restructuring of ICC’s websites with all being housed under one umbrella, www.icc-cricket.com. The event websites now have a long term identity and have managed to carve out a niche on the online space through its designs.
